THE DENTAL CLINIC.

EXTENSION TO SECONDARY SCHOOLS. NOT IMMEDIATELY. Questioned yesterday by an “Age” representative regarding the proposed expansion of the State dental clinic service to secondary schools, Dr. T. H. A. Valintine, Director-General of Health, stated that the extension was not likely to take place for some time to come as it meant a very big undertaking with a considerable outlay in expenditure. His Department had been urged to economise wherever possible, and as much as the scheme was desired, it had to stand down for a while. Dr. Valintine expressed 9 entire satisfaction ' with the work of the Dental Hygiene Department as far as it had gone, and stated that in almost every instance clinics, where established, were working up to full capacity.
