TRUST LANDS TRUST.

MONTHLY MEETING. GRANT TO WHATMAN SCHOOL. The monthly meeting of the Masterton Trust Lands Trust was held, last evening, Mr. R. Krahagcn (chairman) presiding. There were present, Messrs T. Wagg, W. H. Jackson, D. Caselberg, D. Douglas, J. M. Coradine, J. L. Hughes and E. G. Eton. An apology was received from Mr. G. Selby. The treasurer reported a credit balance in No. 1 account of £3OB, and in No. 2 Account of £32. Rentals received since last meeting totalled £498. Accounts amounting to £336 were passed for payment.

The Board of Directors of the Y.M.C.A. intimated that they had decided to accept the old form of Trust lease for part of their premises. The trustees in an estate forwarded a cheque for £44, being rent and rates to date on a Trust section, and requesting that the necessary release be prepared. The Trust’s solicitors forwarded deed of surrender regarding same. The necessary action was authorised.

Consent was given for the transfer of a Queen street lease and underlease.

A deputation of the Whatman School Committee asked for a grant of £3O for the purchase of a piano. It was mentioned that the school lacked certain essential equipment. A grant as requested would enable the committee to secure a pound for pound subsidy from the Government. On the motion of Messrs. Coradine and Jackson a special grant of £25 was made.
