CARTERTON SALE. The W.F.C.A. Ltd (Stock Department) report on the Carterton sale held yesterday as follows: Mr J. W. Henderson’s herd sold at satisfactory values, notwithstanding a small attendance, the average being £6 2/6. Other lots: One Ayrshire cow, close to profit, £l5; low conditioned springing cows, £3 to £5 12/6; empty cows, £1 8/ to £1 16/; light fat cows, £3 to £6; empty heifers, 35/; Ayrshire bull, £3 10/. Sundries at late values. Dalfrty and Co., Ltd., report on the Carterton sale as follows: A small yarding of sheep and pigs was submitted to the usual attendance of buyers. The sheep, which were of poor class, Were difficult to sell, while there was a keen demand for pigs. Following were the prices realised: Aged ewes in lamb, 16/; empty cull ewes, 8/; b.f. hoggets, 11/9; weaner pigs, 22/, 25/ to 27/; brood sow, £B. CLEARING SALE. At A tea, the W.F.C.A. Ltd. (Stock Department) held a clearing sale of dairy cows on account of Mr J. B. Peterson. The bulk of the herd were in poor condition and made moderate prices, bsst sorts making from £6 to £7 15/, and inferior and late calvers, £2 to £4 15/. Milking plant* £25; dairy utensils, at late rates. RABBIT-SKIN SALE. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., Wellington, advise having received the following report from their Dunedin office on the rabbit-skin sale held in that centre on Tuesday, August 3. Our fortnightly rabbit-skin sale was held to-day, the usual attendance of buyers being present. Competition was keen throughout the sale, winter bucks meting with the best demand, prices for these being from firm to a shade dearer on last sale’s rates. On the other hand, there was a poor enquiry for winter does, prices being from 6(1 to 12d lower. All other sorts remain firn at last sale’s rates. We quote; Prime bucks, 126 d, to 135 d; prime does, 83d to 94d; first bucks, 120 d to 128 d; first does, 74d to 82d; second bucks, 104 d to. 115 d; second does, 60d to 72d; first spotted winters, 74d‘to 82d; second spotted winters, 55d to 70d;: incoming winters, 85d to 96d; second incomings, 60d to 72d* late autumns, 74d to 82d; early autumns, 59d to 68d; prime racks, 30d to 404; light racks, 36d to 38d; summers, Sid to 34d; outgoing winters, 56d to 65<f; springs, 44d to 49d; milk/. 34d to 45d.
