HARRIERS.
PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. . TO BE HELD TO DAY. This afternoon the annual aontest of the Wellington Provincial Cross-Coun-try Championships for the Whvte Mackay Shield, will be decided in Master it.il Ninety competitors will com|*te in the event. The following clubs will participate: Brooklyn (Wellington), Olympic (Wellington), Scottish (Millington), Wellington, Hutt Valley, and Masterton the latter being the present holders, with R. A. Rose as indi- J vidual champion. The Wanganui Club will also be competing, but will run as individuals, on account of being affiliated to the West Coast Centre. The course is a two lap one of W,OOO metres, and passes through the Masterton Park. The A grade championship will be run at 2 p.m. and the B grade at 3 p.m., so the spectators may witness various parts of the races on six occasions. A collection will be taken up to defray expenses. Arrangements for the championship dance, which will be held this evening in the Muncipal Hall, are well in hand. The visitors will be the guests of the evening.
