MASTERTON SALE. N.Z. Farmers ’ Co-operative Distributing Co., Ltd., report:—We held our usual weekly sale in the Masterton yards to-day, when we yarded 350 sheep, 10 pigs and 20 head of cattle to a good attendance. A better tone prevailed throughout and we disposed of the whole yarding at the following prices:—Store ewes 12/-, small 2-tooth ! wethers 18/-, woolly hoggets 15/1, shorn do. 14/7, store cows 25/- to 30/-, 1 springing heifers (low condition) £3, small weaner pigs 16/-, 17/- to 18/-. CLEARING SALE. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held a successful clearing sale on account of Mr. J. Patterson, at Kempton road, Grey town, on Wednesday, July 21, when they submitted a herd of dairy cows, some yearling heifers, spring cart, horse and harness, sundries and a quantity of pressed hay, to a good attendance of buyers. The cows came forward in good condition, and met with spirited competition, top ’ price of the sale being £22, and the 1 whole herd averaging the satisfactory figure of £lO 8/-. Some of the prices realised were as follows: £7 15/-, £B, £8 10/-, £9, £9 5/-, £9 10/-, £lO, £lO 5/-, i £ll, £l6 10/- up to £22 for cows duo I August; yearling heifers, £2 17/6 to £4 2/6; bay gelding, £10; spring cart, £9; harness, £7 12/6; meadow hay, 5/6, 5/9, 6/- to 7/- per bale. Sundries sold well up to market values. RABBIT-SKIN SALE. Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd'., advise having received the following report from their Dunedin office on the rabbit-skin sale held on Tuesday: We offered a large catalogue to a full attendance of buyers. Bidding for all grades was exceptionally keen, the chiA demand being for winter bucks which are in short supply. Best grades of bucks advanced 2d to 5d on last sale, best does were from par to 2d easier, and all other grades were firm at last sale’s quotations. We quote: Prime bucks 130(1 to first bucks
