Mr anj Mrs J. T. Watson (Essex street) and family left yesterday to spend a holiday at the seaside at Wellington.

Mrs E. H. Waddington and family have returned from a visit to Peekakariki, where they spent the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Nurse Graham, of the Masterton Hospital, is at present spending part of her annual vacation at her home, in Pahiatua.

Miss G. Napier (Essex street) will be competing at the Palmerston North lawn tennis championships, which commence on Saturday. \

Col. R. St, J. Beere and Mrs Beere (Wellington) are the guests of Mr and Mrs F. W. H. Kummer (Mauriceville).

Misses Doris and Gladys Hall and Miss Thelma Parfitt, who spent Christmas with Mrs Hall, Mangatainoka, haye now returned to Wellington.

The death has occurred in Nelson of Mrs S. Ridgway, formerly of Masterton. The funeral will leave Mr Hoar’s mortuary chapel, Masterton, to-day at 3 p.m.

The engagement is announced of Marjorie, only daughter of the late Mr W. H. and Mrs Morton, of Kelburn, and Eric, eldest son of Mrs J. Dumbleton, of Nireaha.

Mr and Mrs C. A. Grainger and family (Nelson) also Mr and Mrs E. J. Sedcole, (Wellington) are tne guests of Mr and Mrs W. Gilbert,

Mrs W. Wardell (Te Wliiti) has returned to Masterton after a trip to England-. Miss Mary Wardell, who accompanied her, is at present ill in Auckland.

Miss Grace Ashton-Warner, who has been teaching at Levuka, Fiji, is at present on a visit to Masterton and is staying with her mother at Bideford.

Mrs James Boucher of Dargaville, is spending a holiday with her parents, Mr and Mrs James Dick, Ngaturi. The Misses M. and I. Baigent, of Whangarei, also spent Christmas with Mr and Mrs Dick.

Mr and Mrs C. Perry and Miss Alma Perry (Masterton) have been spending the past fortnight in Wellington, and are leaving shortly for Rotorua, where Mr Perry will take part in the bowling tournament.l

The marriage took place at Dannevirko recently of Miss Florence Higgins, daughter of Mr and the late Mrs Higgins, of Maharahara, and Mr William Sedcole, son of Mr and Mrs Sedcole, of Kiritaki, and formerly of Pahiatua. The Rev. J. T. Macky officiated.
