Wool. —Salos closed Thursday. Continental demand maintained throughout. Fine merino closed firm 5 per cent above May rates, but other descriptions have barely maintained their position, closing par to 5 per cent below last series. Faulty sorts show full extent of drop. Average rates: 60/64’s (merino) 1/8 to 2/1; 56’s super }-bd 1/7 to 1/9; 48 ’■» fine xbd 1/3 to 1/6; 44/40’s medium xbd 1/2 to 1/4; 36/40’s coarse xbd 1/1 to 1/2 J. 142,000 halos offered of which it is estimated that 112,000 were sold.
