A BAND OF GIANTS.

BY PRACTICE OF EUGENICS. AND SELECTIVE METHODS. OTTAWA, July 26.—Sixty years ago, when David Scott, a half-breed, was 12, his parents took him to the western prairies, where he grew into a giant of six feet four. At 22 he married a handsome Indian girl, and laid plans for the practice of eugenics, which he has since followed. Four daughters grew into handsome six footers. David insisted on choosing as husbands for his daughters only men perfect physically and with the highest mental ideals. All the daughter married 20 years ago, and the band has now grown to 54, all of huge stature. They recently arrived at Fort Norman with furs worth £lOO,OOO. They spend their life in tents and maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and morality.— (A. and N.Z.)
