: AUCKLAND SENSATION. i YOUNG WOMAN INJURED. * AUCKLAND, April 15.—A young Single woman, Gertie Best, 20 years Wd, who is believed to be a waitress, Jras taken to the hospital to-night Buffering from severe wounds on the Heck and throat. Her condition is Bericnis. Pedestrians in the city to-night >tate that she was attacked by a man Jrith a razor. Before she could be Bescued she was gravely hurt. She Bvas operated upon, but was so weak Bs to be unable to give a connected Recount of the affair. Later in the evening, a man named Bertie Best, aged about 25, was detained on a charge of common assault. —(P.A.)
