Mr W. Darvill was elected a life member of the Masterton FootbaU (Hub last night.
Mr H. D. Grocott, who was for many years chief postmaster at Wellington, is on a visit to Pahiatua. Mr T. T. Hugo, Fire Inspector, was visiting Masterton yesterday on Fire Board business.
Mr 8. H. Conder, of Masterton, left yesterday for Taihape to take over the management of a clothing and mercery business. It is officially announced, says a London cable, that the King and Queen will journey to Genoa on Thursday to embark on the xvoyal yacht. /
A vote of condolence to the relatives of the late Mr G, H. Innes, a vice-president of the club, was passed last night at the annual meeting of the Masterton Football Club.
A cable states that Earl Jellicoe is spending a few days at Algeciras. It is understood that he is going home in the Uooltan from Gibraltar on March 22...
Mr A. L. Morgan, of the staff of the Wairarapa Farmers’ Co-operative Association, Ltd., Stock Department, will be absent from Masterton for about a fortnight, having to undergo medical treatment at Wellington.
Rumours that, owing to his recent illness, Mr Massey would be compelled to retire from active political life, are contradicted by the “Newsletter,” the Reform Party’s journal. It states that Mr Massey is as vigorous as ever.
