COMMUNISM LET LOOSE.
GUN CLASH WITH POLICE. SEVERE CASUALITIES INFLICTED. •(Received Sunday 5.5 p.m.) BERLIN, Mar. 14.—Six persons were killed and 23 seriously injured, while 13 others suffered lesser injuries, in a collision between the police and the Communists. Shots were fired immediately after speeches by English and French. Communists. The police had informed the Communist Party that foreign Communists would not be allowed to speak. When a German Communist started to translate tie speeches the police officer protested and when the audience showed hostility he summoned reinforcements and ordered the people to leave tie hall.
The crowd attacked the police with empty beer glasses and* chairs. Suddenly a shot was fired from the gallery against the police who replied with shots’ inflicting the casualtlies mentioned.—(A. and N.Z.)
