MONTHLY MEETING’. The monthly meeting of the General Committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association was held yesterday, Mr D. Smith presiding. There were also present Messrs D. Ogilvy, G. Lee, N. G. Rayner, J. W. Colquhoun, W. V. Buick, 11. J. Barton, W. Kemp, D. McKenzie, C. M. Perry, D. McKenzie, W. H. Buiek, G. W. Sellar, R. Gray, C. J. Bennett, G. H. Perry, J. MqKenzio, and J. M. James. A Credit Balance

The treasurer reported receipts to date £2255; expenditure £2052; credit in working account £1510; bank credit £lO.

Accounts amounting to £243 were passed for payment

A donation of £1 was received from Mr H. C. Robinson.

Mr D. Ogilvy (treasurer) congratulated the members on being able, for the first time in live years, to shhw a credit balance, and thanked them for their interest in the Society’s affairs and their financial support. There were, ’however, almost half of the members ’ subscriptions outstanding, and as the show was abandoned money was required for working expenses. These remarks wore endorsed by the chairman, 1 who appealed to members to pay their subscriptions before the end of the financial year (June 30).

Agricultural Conference. The secretary of the Royal Agricultural Society wrote stating that as his Society has now replaced the Council of Agriculture, it would be responsible for the holding of the annual conference. He asked for remits to be submitted and also for the appointment of delegates.—Messrs D. Smith, D. McGregor, G. H. Perry and C. J. Bennett were appointed to frame remits, and Messrs D. Smith and W. H. Buick to attend as delegates On the resolution of the chairman, it was decided to forward a letter of thanks and appreciation to the Wairarapa Frozen Meat Company for their assistance in providing prizes and arranging for the exhibits of fat lambs, which competition would have had to be postponed this year owing to the abandonment of the show. Thanks were also extended to the manager, Mr H. E. Davis, and to Mr W. D. Taylor, of the Gear Company, who judged the exhibits The National Sheepbreeders’ Association of England wrote inviting New Zealand delegates to attend the 24th international conference in Chester on July G, 1925. —Messrs R. F. R. Beetham, J. L .Murray and John McLennan, Who will be in England at this time were invited to represent the Association. Twentv one new members and thirteen life members were elected, and four resignations accepted. It was decided vigorously to prosecute the annual canvass. May 31 was decided upon as the closing day.
