Present indications arc for north'orly to westerly winds, strong to gale, and unsettled squally weather; rain probable generally, and heavy rain with flooded rivers in Westland and Otago; barometer unsteady with a further falling tendency. Masterton.—Mr R. Brown reported at 9 a.m. yesterday:—Barograph 29.74, falling; shade temperature, maximum 72.6, minimum 43.8, terrestrial 35. bright sunshine 4 hours.
