r .« ESSEX I The Greatest Feat I SIX / in the History of t Australian Motoring ON THE 20th of January last, an Essex Six, shod with Balloon Tires was driven by Fred Withers to the summit of Carey’s Peak (5,400 ft. the highest point of Barrington Tops in the Great Dividing Range. No other oar has accomplished this feat—indeed, .. few men even on foot have ever made the ascent. For there are no roads to the top of Carey’s Peak and in clearing a track for the Essex through dense vegetation and numerous rocks and boulders, axes, crowbars and even gelignite had to be freely used. At one point 12 yards of progress took hours of time and toil! This wonderful performance is just another evidence of Essex power, reliability and endurance, and a further proof that The ESSEX SIX will do far more than it likely to be asked of it! ESSEX SIX .
