Eastbourne, comprising Bona Bay and Mnritai is situated on the eastern side of Wellington harbour and is much patronised by city families and retired folk. Prolonged sunshine is a predominant feature of this alluring seaside resort. The community is ■ a sociable one, outdoor sports being largely indulged in. The municipal tennis courts, croquet lawns, public recreation grounds a'nd pavilion provide facilities for visitors to take full advantage of the holiday season. In a few weeks the district will be served with electric, light derived from Mangahao. Tho number of .up-to-date residences already occupied is a striking testimony of the popularity that Eastbourne enjoys. There is an excellent service of ferry steamers.
