AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
WAIRARAPA SFB-CENTRE. ANNUAL MEETINC. ' The annual meeting of the above, was held on Wednesday evening, Mr W. G. Waterson presiding. The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted. The following clubs were represented: — Masterton, Carterton, Masterton Harriers,' Ma-ngatainoka, Pahiatua, Alfrcdtonj Nireaha and Eketahuna. Apelogics were received from Messrs 8. M. George and T. G. J’angioni. The Pahiatua Club was accepted in affiliation on the representation of Mr A. J. Morgan, and Mr T. T. Vangioni was elected as the club’s delegate. The election of officers resulted:— President, Mr W. G. Waterson (reelected); '-.vice-presidents, Messrs J. Bradbury, T. G. Vangioni, B. Drysdale, 8. M./George, D. M. Wilton, Gordon Laing and W. Eagle; hon. secretary, G. McKay (re-elected); hon. treasurer, J. Bradbury (re-elected); hon. auditor, F. J. Steel (re-elected); executive committee, Messrs W. G. Waterson, J. Bradbury, G. McKay, T. G. Vangioni and W. Chalmers. The appointment of an hon. handicapper was left over. The Caledonian Society was granted January 1 as the date for their annual sports meeting, the Mastert.n A.A. Club January 22, and the Mangatainoka Club Boxing Day. The Alfredton Club was granted the 220yds Wairarapa Sub-Centre .district championship, and the Masterton Harrier Club the‘s and 10 miles championships. It was resolved to apply to the Wellington Centre for a. remission of the past season’s subscription. It was decided to urge all clubs to get their applications for dates for their annual sports meetings in early.
Votes of thanks were accorded to Mr F. J. Steel (for auditing the books) and to the Press. Mr Bradbury intimated his intention of presenting a silver cup as a points prize for sprint events for the coming season, for which he received a hearty vote of thanks. Affiliation dues to the N.Z.A.A.A., amounting to £3 3s, were passed for payment. It was resolved to hold the next meeting in three weeks. The visiting delegates were tendered a hearty vote of thanks for having travelled so far to attend the meeting.
