London, July 29.—At Eastbourne, France earned the right to meet Czecho-Slovakia in the Davis Cup European final, to-day defeating Britain by securing the first three matches. In the doubles, Borotra and Brugnon (France) beat Woosman and Godfree (Britain), 6/4, 4/6, 6/3, 6/I.— (Reuter.) WOOD DEFEATS PATTERSON. IN EXHIBITION SINGLES.
