FARMERS’ UNION SHOOT.

LINKWATER WINS C.A.C. SHIELD. The annual New Zealand Farmers’ Union shoot, for the challenge shield donated by the Colonial Ammunition Company, took place last week/ attracting 23 teams. Of these 17 sent in score sheets, and the official report comments upon this as unsatisfactory. The winners were the Linkwatcr A team with a score of 566. The full list of results, with the scores at the various ranges is as follows:— 300 500 600 Tl. Linkwater A .... 185 197 184 566 Seddon 180 195 175 550 Alfredton 185 182 175 542 Other Wairarapa teams scored as follows:—Grey town No. 2, 176 —188— 164—528; Greytown No. 1, 179—179— 163—521; Mastertom, 167—^177—168— 512; Gladstone, 125—156—436. J. W. Paynter (Marlborough) won Wright, Stephenson and Co.’s special medal with 98, and H. Kebbell (Alfredton) was a close second with 97.
