Mr J. Bolderson has been elected secretary of the Bush Rugby Union. Mr W. P. Carter (Ekethauna) is leaving this week on a business trip te Auckland.
Mr C. C. Ross, accompanied by Mrs Ross, left yesterday on a business trip to Auckland.
' The acting-Premier of Queensland has announced that Mr E. G. Theodore hns intimated his intention of leaving State politics in favour of Federal, Mr and Mrs W. A. Hutton (Mayor and Mayoress of Greytown) returned ; last week from a visit to the back I country of Wanganui.
Mr W. A. Laing, of the Greytown Post Office, has been appointed (provisionally) supervisor at the Carterton Post Office.
The willing and genuine services of Mr H. S. Loudon (secretary) and Mr T. Leete, of the West School Committee, were singled ont by the chairman at last night's meeting for special comment which met the approval of the meeting with hearty applause.
The householders wlio met at the Masterton Central School last evening passed a hearty vote of thanks to Mr A. Hendry for his excellent services as a member of the committee for the past 16 years. Mr Hondry has retired, as he is now living in the district of another school.
