SEQUEL IN COURT.
SYDNEY MURDER CASE. (Received 8.50' p.m.) Sydney, March 24.—At the trial of Robert Cameron, on a charge of murdering Ernest Dunham, the Crown’s case was that the woman Puckeridge quarrelled with Cameron, with whom she had been living, and went to live with Dunham. The shooting was the result,- Cameron trying to get the woman, Puckeridge to return to him. Cameron, in a statement, said he was unaware that the revolver was loaded. He had no feeling against Dunham, his object being to protect him from Puckeridge. He wanted to get her out of the way as he considered her a public nuisance.—(P.A.) GUILTY OF MANSLAUGHTER. SEVEN YEARS’ PENAL. (Received 11.45 p.m.) Sydney, March 24.—The jury found Cameron guilty of manslaughter. The Judge commented that they had taken a very merciful view of the case as the offence was very close to murder. He sentenced Cameron to seven years’ penal.—(P.A.)
