Whangarei, March 15. —At the Northland Trotting Club’s course this afternoon Man-q’-War, paced by a galloper, essayed to reduce the Aus tralasian grass track trotting record of 3min 18secs over a mile and a hal I ', and succeeded in covering the distance in 3min 17secs. J. Bryce, junr., the rider, was presented with a gold medal and the owner with a case of pipes an i a set of harness.—(P.A.)
