WESTERN MAORI PETITION.

ADJOURNED TO SUPREME COURT. Tauranga, March 9.—Evidence in the Pomare petition case closed this afternoon and the hearing was adjourned to the Supreme Court at Auckland on Tuesday. Several witnesses were examined as to alleged drinking at Muir’s mine on the day of Sir M. Pomare’<s meeting there, and two of Muir’s servants, brought in by the Court to give evidence, stated they s aw no liquor there nor any being served to natives, nor were any drunk on that occasion.— (P.A.)
