COSY DE LUXE. LAST TIME TO-NIGHT. Those picture patrons who have nd yet seen the big comedy success “Twin Beds” are advised that tonight is the last night. The picture “Twin Beds,” is a transfer to th > screen of one of the most popular ano successful farce comedies that the stage has produced. The original plot has been closely followed and as it, h said to be one of the costliest plays ever purchased for picture use. B<sides Mr and Mrs De Haven there are in the cast such luminaries as William Desmond himself a popular star, Helen Raymond, who created the role of Signora Monti in the original Lon don production, Katherine Lewis and Montie Williams. The picture bi-’r fair to afford unusual entertainment OPERA HOUSE. ORIGINAL DANCES BY MAE MURRAY. ARE FINE FEATURES IN “THU GILDED LILY.” Original dances that have never been seen on. the screen are executed by Mae Murray, the superb star and dancer, in her newest Paramount Super Production, “The Gilded Lily,” which is delighting large crowds eac i night at Opera House. Miss Murr«*. • spent many weeks preparing tt.: dances and they have been reproduced on the screen so satisfactorily that they alone provide a motive for se - ing the picture. In “The Gilded Lily” Miss Murray is Lilliai Drake, hostess of a popular New Yory private club, and her dances, done in one of the most lavish cabaret sets ever I uilt for the screen, are the real events in the picture. Miss Murray wears a modified Carmen costume consisting of d dress of unusual cut made entirely of spangles, topped off by the proverbial red hat. In a bubble dance the cabaret is gayly decorated with all kinds of balloons. Quite an excellent lot of supporting pictures make up a big evening’s entertainment. To-night is the last night to see this programme. THE FAMOUS N.Z. DIGGERS. Earl Haig, Commander in Chief, said, when he saw the famous Diggers at Montreuil, France: “I have been highly amused and entertained.” Thousands of people have endorsed the eminent soldier’s remark. This remarkable company has gone on improving until now it appears as a very high-class show indeed. It has secured some very fine talent from other parts of the world. Amongst these is Joe Valli, a Scottish comedian and eccentric dancer, who was, until recently, appearing at the Palladium, London, in his own sketch. Another comedian is Frank Moran, a New Zealander. The voices in the troupe include Gwilym Davies, known a s “The man with the golden voice.” The revue is a screamingly funny one, besides encompassing some very beautiful scenery and dresses. The famous Diggers’ Orchestra is s till as good as ever, and many people regard this part of the performance as a treat in itself. The costumes have been all designed and executed in London. The Diggers will give a return season at the Opera House on MarA 11 and 13.
