THE FRENCH FOOTBALLERS.

COMMENTS ON THEIR PLAY. London, Feb. 26.—The “Times” foot-ball critic, referring to the drawn game between England and France, comments that England has been only once beaten at Twiskenham, when the South Africans won in 1913. The onlyprevious draw was with Ireland in 1910. England’s backs made mistakes, by which France profited. The French backs started brilliantly, but were somewhat raw. They have yet to emerge from the elementary stage. The forwards packed clumsily, but pushed with tremendous keenness. A great fault was a lack of restraint. They must learn to wheel and dribble, but they are fast, strong, and well trained.
