certificates not to be downhearted—there were rewards for them later on, as the result of diligent study and a determination to succeed. Mr Jack-

son exhorted the pupils who were leaving the school to keep in mind the lessons of their school days and to follow the path of rectitude and honour through life. Ho would watch with interest their future careers, and

PUT ABA. The school broke up under the most h a PPy conditions, the weather beingideal. The parents were invited to the prize-giving, and were treated to a small programme of music and a dainty afternoon tea. Special prizes were gained by the following pupils:—Pearl Manser, sewing, Ist senior division; Lila Gundcrsen, Ist junior: Hetty Escott, and Rowena Corlett, preparatory; Rowland Corlett for writing, Ella Escott and Pearl Manser for homework. Rowland Corlett gained a proficiency certificate. Attendance certificates were won byseven pupils. After prize-giving the children sang several of their school songs, which the guests greatly appreciated. Next came the afternoon tea, which was served by the pupils, little and big, in a most creditable manner. The gathering dispersed after singing the National Anthem.
