P.W.M.U.
PRESENTATION TO MRS J. MILLER. The monthly meeting of the P.W. M.U. was held on Thursday, in Knox Hall, when there was a good attendance of members. Mrs Duncan McGregor tendered her resignation as president, and Mrs Willoughby was unanimously elected in her stead, and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded the retiring president. Mrs Jas. Miller resigned the secretaryship, owing to her approaching departure for Wanganui, and Mrs Beecroft was appointed to the office. The president, on behalf of the P.W.M.U., asked Mrs Miller to accept an ebony-backed mirror, comb and brush as a token of the esteem in which the departing member was held, and as an appreciation of the splendid work she had done as secretary. They were all sorry to lose her, and wished her every happiness in her new home Mrs Miller suitably replied, and in acknowledging the presentation referred to the pleasant time she had spent in Masterton. She thanked them for their kindly remarks and good wishes. Afternoon tea was then served, and an enjoyable time was spent by the assemblage.
