CARTERTON SALE. The Wairarapa Farmers’ Co-op.’ Association (Stock Department) report: —We offered a small yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs to a fair attendance. Competition was dull throughout. We report the following sales: Sheep—Ewes and w.f. lambs all counted 5s 4d, fat ewes 7s 6d, m.s. 2ths 6s Id. Cattle—Dairy heifers r.w.b. £2, bull 22s 6d, cow, first calver £2. Pigs—Porkers 255, sow in pig 225, weaners ss, 6s, 7s 6d, Bs, 12s to 14s. LONDON REPORTS. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Dec. 7: Talld^v.— We quote present spot values for the following descriptions : —Fine mutton £2 4s per cwt., good beef £2 0s 6d, mixed £1 15s. At sale by auction the market was dull with downward tendency. New Zealand Frozen Meat.— Wether and maiden ewe, light per lb.; frozen beef, ox, hinds 5d per lb. For other descriptions the market is dull with downward tendency.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Dec. 7 :—Tallow. —2oso casks of tallow offered, 250 casks sold. Prices nominally 3s lower during the week except for fine mutton. Sellers of fine mutton 465, good mixed 41s, mixed 355. Buyers hold off considering that prices are still high as compared with South America.
