THE PLAGUE.
M&RE SERIOUS THAN IMAGINED. (Received 12.16 a.m.) Melbourne, Oct. 25.—Dr. Cumpston (Chief Health Officer) states that the plague is more serious than is imagined, and that efforts to limit rats’ infection are unsuccessful. The main epidemic of plague is likely to break out in March or April next. —(A. and N.Z.)
