WAIRARAPA PATIENTS
AT TRENTHAM HOSPITAL At a- meeting of tho executive of the Wairarapa Patriotic Association in Masterton yesterday Mr Hugh Morrison suggested that some members of the executive should visit Trcntham Military Hospital periodically with a view to ascertaining whether there were any patients "from the Wairarapa who needed financial assistance, either for themselves or their dependants. He had heard ot some very distressing cases of patients whose wives and children were ‘a sore straits. He quoted an instance of a wife who had been obliged to let her house and was now living in one room with her children. He d ; d not know whether this or any of the other cases brought to his notice concerned Wairarapa soldiers. He was under the impression that all the patients from this district were provided for, but it would be as well to ascertain whether anyone had been overlooked. He would suggest that Mr and Mrs Coradine should visit the hospital at convenient periods. The chairman, (Mr J. M. Coradine; approved, of Mr Morrisons’ idea. From time to time the Claims Board had before them requests’ for assistance from hospital patients. It was resolved to leave the. martei in the hands of the chairman, who is to arrange for visits.
