HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Masterton Horticu.tural Society was held last ni-dit. .Mr J. Allan presided over an attendance of 12 members. A large number of apologies for absence were received. The * annual report and balance sheet were read and adopted. Several new members were elected, and two resignations accepted. An election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr James Allan (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs J. W. Henderson and W. Wilton; treasurer, Mr H. M. Buddington; general committee, Messrs H. P. Hugo, J. L. Mwifay, C. A. Caigon, F. P. Welch, W. Kemp, A. Rigg. J. Caselberg, E. Hale, W. Harding, and A. Allen; ladies’ committee: Mesdames N. Miller,‘R. Johnston, Skeet, Trimble, Moser, Graham, Gawith. and the Misses 'E. Robieson, M. Cameron, and Henderson. On the motion of Mr W. Kemp, it was resolved to rescind a previous resolution that members’ tickets be issued only on payment of the annual subscription. The matter of appointing a secretary was left in the hands of the . general committee. ; It- was decided to make a reduced [ subscription charge for junior mem- . bers.
