N.S.W. LOAN IN LONDON.
(Received 8.10 p.m.) London, May 31.—The “Financial News” says: “The Sydney loan of £1,000,000, in 64 per cent, debentures, with a currency of 10 years, issued at £99, proved an irresistible bait to the ‘stags’ (operators who apply for new security on the chance of selling it on allotment at a premium over the issue price), who commenced to clamber out when a premium of 2s 6d to 7s 6d was established. Naturally this resulted in the premium rapidly disappearing.”—(A. and N.Z.)
