McSWINEY'S FAST. SIXTY-ONE DAYS COMPLETED. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Australian-N.Z. Cable Association.) Received Last Night, 7.15 o'clock. LONDON/ Oct. 13. Alderman McSwiney has now completed a sixty-one days' hunger strike at Brixton Prison.
He has been carefully nursed, and his bodily heat is maintained by hot water bottles. The prison authorities state that he may last another month, and declare there is no evidence that he has taken nourishment, but outside medical opinion is sceptical, especially as hia condition shows comparatively little wastage and his temperature is almost normal. McSwiney. drinks much water, also a saline mixture for the purification of his blood. It is unofficially suggested that the relatives who visit him daily give him spirits, wines, and fruit juices. - The twelve hunger strikers in Cork Prison have completed a fast of sixtythree days.
moratorium: proposed. Received This Morning, 12.15 o'clock. LONDON, Oct. 13. There is indignation in Belfast business circles at the report that the moratorium that is being arranged is entirely due to the Sinn Feincra' object in impairing credit in Belfast, MURDERED OFFICERS.
