WAIRARAPA PRESBYTERY.
MONTHLY MEETING. The Wairarapa Presbytery met in Masterton on Tuesuay afternoon. The Itev. It. Welsh, of Pahiatua, was in the chair in the absence of the Moderator, Rev. G. T. Brown, who was absent through illness. There were also present the Rev. E. J". Tipler, of Carterton, the Iter. J. McGregor, of Martinborough, the Rev. J. T. Macky, of Lansdowne, and Messrs James McGregor (Masterton)), ,W. Fisher (Carterton), John Jolly (Martinborough), George Bruce (lMasterton), and M. Murray (Greytown), The report and balance sheet were unanimously adopted, and delegates were appointed to the General Assembly. An acknowledgment was received from the Minister of Internal Affairs regarding the Presbytery's protest against the proposed extension of racing permits.
The Rev. John McGregor submitted the report of his visitation to the Carterton charge, and expressed gratification at the progress of the work there-
in reference to the proposals for the extension of youth work by tho Assembly's committee, the Presbytery resolved that while recognising the need for the extension of such work, it disapproved to the present proposals. z *
