ALBANIA AND ITALY.
The dispute between Albania and Italy, which has been simmering ever since the new territories were defined by the Supreme War Council, has developed into open warfare, which has already resulted in serious bloodshed. The control of the Adriatic ports has been a source of very great trouble, and the Fiume incident lias created serious unrest, in the Balkan States. The internal condition of Italy is most unsatisfactory, and the adjoining States are seizing what they believe to be a favourable opportunity for regaining lost territory. In all probability they are being assisted by other Central Powers. Under the terms of the Versailles Treaty it may be necessary for Britain, France, and other signatories to come to the assistance of Italy. What has the appearance of a very ugly affair is brewing in regard to the Adriatic.
