A GERMAN MOTHER'S THANKS. Mrs. Mario Hildebiandt, of Gottingen, a clergyman *a widow, and mother of a young Gorman olfloor who committed suicide near Buxton a fow months ago, and was hurled in Cliapol-cn-10-Frith churchyard, lias written tho following letter to tlio vicar, tho Itov. J. C. Streddor:— "Dear Sir,—Yesterday I wrote to Captain von Tottan, of Donnigton Hall, and asked him to send 50s out of tlio money duo to my son Paul to tlio parish of Chapel en-le-Frith'. It is a littlo thank-offering for your kindness and troublo in taking care of tho grave of my dear son. Perhaps you may devote tho monoy to tho fmr people of your parish. Everyone who puts a littlo flower on the grave, so far away from me, will ba sure of my thanks. Thcro arc graves of foreign soldiers hero; they aro tended and covered with ivy and roses. *'• SOMETHING NEW IN POLITICS, Hore's something new in politics, says a Now York paper. A candidate for a political office in Ohio did this: — Buying as many paokagos of breakfast food as there wore voters in his ward, ho put his card in each one. Then tho packages wore distributed, door to door. "Ho flgurod that when tho family ate tho corn flakes they would feel kindly toward him at least," is tho way a friend explained it.
