A Very Close Contest Slight Lead For Prohibition. Tho figures for tho licensing poll were not complete when we went to Press this morning. The figures officially supplied from Wellington at 2 a.m. wero: — Continuance 170,931 Stato Control 22,678 Prohibition 194,298 This gives Prohibition a lead of 689. There are still seventeen returns to come, aftd 1000 soldiers at sea, together with a considerable number of absentee votes. Tho figures availably last night were as follows LATER. At 9 a.m. a message came through from Wellington, stating that Prohibition had a lead, on the present figures, of approximately 6000.
