At his meeting last, night in the Municipal Hall, the Rev. R. S. In dealing with the housing question in his speech at Kuripuni last night, Mr. A. D. McLeod, the Labour candidate, stated that workers were being daily evicted in Masterton. He was one of tlie latest who had received notice to quit. A crowd of profiteers were trafficking in houses, and juggling with the freedom and comfort of the people, and the Government had now, on the eve of an election, discovered that this profiteering existed. He exhorted the audience to liiwe no truck with a Government which permitted such a system to continue so long, and to support a party that was making the housing problem a feature of its platform.
