The defendant, k for whom Mr Pragnoll appeared, pleaded guilty. His Worship said there was no suggestion that defendant had tried to evade tho Act. The assietant had sold the wine in the ordinary course of business, and his employer must be held responsible. This was really tho first prosecution of the kind in this district. Defendant had certainly brought himsslf within the law, but it was not a caso that called for a severo penalty. The law would be vindicated by a light fine of os and 7s costs.
