Shisted, 0R.P.0., has beoa spending a few days with Mr and Mrs W. H. Jackson at "Stoneleigh," Masterton. This young officer is on© of the band of bravo Hying men who rendered such splendid "service during the Sotnnie cam p&ign. He is an Auckland boy, twenty-one years of age, and although it is only twenty months since he left New Zealand, he graduated at the Oxford -Flying School and obtained 'his wings and commission. Ho ha* been engaged in eight mouths' continuous service as fast scout on the (Western front. During one of his last flights he was attacked by a number of (lerman machines. His observer was badly wounded, and his machine was riddled. Noticing that his fellow oHicer was likely to bleed to death, lie cleverly manoeuvred and tnado a dash for his own lino. He landed safely, and his observer is now almost well again. An attack of bronchi Lis and nerve strain sent Lieutenant ShistWl to hospital. Mr has been granted six mouths' leave in which to visit fcrw Zealand and recuperate.
