ANNUAL REPORT.

The 2*) th annual report of the Mas-tet-ton A. and i\ Association, to be presented at xhe fortiieoming annual meeting, states, inter alia-: Shuw'. Tho annual show was held on loth and Kkli Feoruary, and was ati uui qua lined success, both as regards at- : tendance and quality of exhibits. From the statement of accounts it will be seen that a profit of £203 12s 3d was made, . due to a great extent to the very substantial increase of donations, which, amounted to £7Ol 16s 9d, against £-146 7s for the previous year. The thanks of the Committee are due to those who so generously contributed to the funds. A feature of the second day's proceedings was the parade of close upon 300 mounted soldiers from the Featherston Camp, which created a large amount of interest. Luncheon and tea were provided for the soldiers by a Ladies' Committee, assisted by a band of helpers, and the committee desires to place on record its verv hearty thanks to all who assisted in their entertainment and to'"those who contributed a sum of £l7l 9s towards this object. ENTRIES. Entries show a falling off as compared with the previous year, due to the weather, and also to so many men having enlisted, which lias had the effect of making it difficult for breeders to got their stock iuto Showform. .• The main shortage was m horticultural classes and ring competitions, but the quality cf the exhibits was fully maintained. The difference "in entry -fees, compared with the previous year, is £27 3s. k The N.Z. Romney Marsh S.B. Association again offered their fine silver shields for the chnmipon Romney ram and champion Ifanmey owe of the shew. Both were won by Mr W. Perry. Competition for these shields is confined to owners of registered The N.Z. Sheen Breeders' Associa-. tion and N.Z. Holsteiu-Freisian Association gave valuable prizes. Tho former was won by Mr J". Knight, and the latter bv Mr V, A. Gillies. IMPROVEMENTS. During the year improvements to the extent of £ll2 7s f)d were effected, the principal items of which were painting and additions to caretaker's cottage, painting fences and yards, and extended water service. In addition a section of three acres, which will be used .for a non-members' motor car paddock, was bought from Mr O. F. Vallanco, who generously handed this over at cost price, £364 Is. The thanks of the Association are due to Mr Vallanco in this connection. THANKS. The hearty thanks of the Association are extended to the judges, and honorary ' officials, to donors of cash and trophies, and to all who assisted in the work of the Association during the year. RAM FAIR. Sixty-one new members were elected during the year. After writing off imfinancial members and making provision for resignations and deaths, the membership at date is 10 honorary life, 6? life, 'M) annual members,' a total of 1077. .
