CARTERTON STOCK SALE. j Messrs W. and G. Tumbull and Co., Ltd., report on their Carterton sale of Friday, ..July 2nd, as follows : All stock came forward up to advertised numbers. Sheep met with good competition, all selling under the hammer with the exception of tw r o pens. A good yarding oFcattle came forward, and all good conditioned cows selling readily under the hammer at improved "ates. Tlie following are the prices '•ealised: F.M. ewes in lamb to Romney rams, ~lßs to 19.s 2d; ewes in famb (low condition), 13s Id, 2th wethers (small), 18s 7d; cull ewes, 8s 3d; small B.F. lambs, 10s 6d to 32s BcT; fat cows, £6 Bs, £6 10s to £7; fat heifers, %ht, £5 10s to £6; forwardjws, "£4 10s to £5 8s; good store cows, ~£3 15s to £4 ss; store cows, low condition, £1 5s to £2 13s. We also sold on account of the Wounded Soldiers' Fund one sheep dog for £2. CLEARING SALE. Messrs Abraham iand Willians, Ltd., Pahiatua, report that on Thursday they held a clearing sale of dairy cows on account of Mr W. M. Vowell, of Mangatainoka, who is giving up dairying.; The sale a good one throughout, the oattle being ia lexcellent (condition. Although there was a , limited attendance of the public, the herd averaged £7 13s 6d per head. There were 25 sold, the highest prices realised being £lO 15s, £lO 12s 6d, £lO 10s, £9 10s, down to £5 10s; 3yr heifers sold at from £6 5s to £6 7s Cd; pigs, slips, 6s to lis f stores, lfis; sow, 17. At the conclusion of the sale we offered in aid of the Wounded Soldiers' Fund a heifer presented by Mr H. Cowan, which realised £7, side saddle, on account of Mr W. M. Vowell, which realised £3 10s; a horse on account of Mr P. Allen realised £5 lis; a dog on account of Mr H. Saxton realised £l, making a total of £l7 Is.
