TO-DAY'S WEATHER.

NEW ZEALAND FORECAST. WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev. D. C. Bates, of the Meteorological office, last evening wired as follows: Showers fell in various parts of the country last night, hut the conditions improved to-day., Westerly and southerly breezes have prevailed, and the barometer has shown a rising tendency. Present indications are for cool and changeable weather, but unsettled in the West Coast and southernmost districts, at times with scattered showery. Moderate to .■ strong westerly winds, with a southerly tendency, are probable generally; but occasionally squally about Foveaux Strait. The barometer shows little movement at present.
