ASPHYXIATING GAS.
FRENCH THREATEN REPRISALS
(Received Last Night, 10 o'clock.) LONDON, June 2. The French have issued, a memo-
randum to the foreign Powers regarding the German use of gas. The memorandum quotes the, German Headquarters order of a new weapon -which will squirt nflammable liquid for twenty metres, causing mortal injury. The memorandum remarks: "No Government could allow its troops to be unprotected against such refinements of barbar -ty. Consequently, France intends to use fitting means to prevent the Germans from committing further murders."
