RESCUED IN MID-OCEAN.

(By Telegraph — Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Last Night. During the passage of the Talun'e from Earotonga, a passenger, J. W. D. Noble, created a sensation by suddenly jumping overboard in :nidocoan without giving nay warning. The vessel's engines wore stopped and a boat lowered and Noble waa picked up and brought aboard, not having suffered any serious results. He vas placed under restraint til arrival at Auckland and then handed to the police.
