A. case of alleged card-sharping is alleged to have occurred on the steamer Wakatere, when bringing down passengers to the Christmas mi'.-'.. As a result, Gliomas Hunter and Charles Barker were lodged in gaol. One of the accused had nearly £IOO in his possession.
