GALE AT FIJI.
, CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE. (By Telegraph — Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Last Night. A cablegram from Suva, dated December 28th, states that Tavnini, Navua, and Levu, are believed to have sustyvned little damage by the recent gale. At Rewa, nine Indians were drowned.
At Levaika there was a light hurricane, but the town was not damaged. Shipping suffered, and several cutters and tho steamer Rippl© are ashore at Levuka.
The auxiliary schooner Gonfianga is ashore at Nomeua. The cutter Tuilevuke, is a total wreck at Wakaya reef. Her crow were saved.
The Penang sugair estate lost 250 tons of sugar in punts, and 300 tons in uheds, were damaged.
