C.SlB>; sth dam, Jesa, by Mar* <pii»(imp). . ■ ■ -Baron of Burnside's sire, "Baron fyvie,'* has had a marvellous career in the show ring. 2s is well known, km was the colt of his year in Scotland, gaining the championship at Um Royal and at Ayr, and his doughty deeds at Home have been reflected in his achievements in New Zealand, loth at the agricultural shows and at Um parades. "Baron Fyvie" carried off the highest honours at the Otago Parade in 1908, when there were no fewer than forty entries in stallions tour years and over. Next year he again won when there were a like number of entries, and that year (1909) one of his stock, Baron Clinton, won in the three-year-olds, beating seventeen other entries. Baron Clinton, who was his only representative of that age in the Dominion at the time, afterwards added a number of important prizes. In 1910, "Baron JTyvie" was again in the forefront in Donedin in a class of 32, and again won the Otago Challenge Cup, this feeing the last occasion on which he waft exhibited at the Otago Socidtj's parade. "Baron Fyvie" was champion at ffimaru in 1910, and at the North Otago Show he has put up a wonderfully good record,, being first ant champion in 1908, 1909, 1912, and 1913. In 1912 lie won a strong class including Black Douglas and Barn Bold. Whilst "Baron Fyvie" has Bompeted with such marked success at, the North Otago shows the < merits of his stock have been recognised in \.o uncertain way, and haye won no fewer than 23 first prizes (including foar progeny awards), 12 -seanis, and •even third awards. Mr John F. "Maori Belle," however, was considered to he tip top stamp of a Clydesdale mare, and her breeding is of undoubted merit, and of sound lines.
