AUCKLAND SESSIONS. (By Telegraph — Preai Atsociatiin.} I AUCKLAND, Monday. Two prisoners, Albert Edward McQueen and Harry Wilson, who attempted to escape from Ml. Eden Gaol by violently assaulting a warder and his, assistant, were brought up for sentence at the Auckland Supremo Court this morning. Bofth prisoners received a sentence of 3 \ years, to take effect From the expira- ; tion of their present terms. (!":jrge , Harris was found guilty of attempting to steal a pocket hook from the person at the Whangarei races, and was ordered to be detained for a period not exceeding two years of reformative treatment. E. Rowland** 'found guilty of theft, was-admitted to probation for a period of two years on. the special condition that he refrained from liquor. .Tames McGivern, a greaser from the steamer Sussex, was found. not guilty of theft. A young Croatian, Steve Jurakoveich, was found guilty of carnal knowledge, and was admitted to probation for a period of twelve months. His Honour pointed put that the prisoner bore a good character. He .was engaged to the girl aii the time and had since married her, and...±b.ey' were living happily together. j
