LAST APPEARANCE IN AUSTRALIA. BREAK FURTHER RECORDS. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) SYDNEY, February 22. Tlie American athletes made their final appearance in the Athletic Championships yesterday, and later sailed in the Aorangi for New Zealand. Following were the results:— 220 yds N.S.W. Championship.— Parker (America) 1, Harwood (Sydney) 2. Time, 22 4-ssec—a record. Pole Vault—Templeton (America) lift The previous record was 10ft lOJin. Parker also won his heat in the 110 yards Handicap in 11 4-ssec., an Australian record. Throwing the 161b Hammer—W. J. O'Reilly, 136 ft 4£in —a N.S.W. record. Three Mile Run—S. Longman, 15 min 54sec, 1. 440 yds Hurdles—J. W. Fraser 1, T. Cole 2, Templeton (America) 3. Won easily by ten yards. Time, 61 l-s«ec. . Half Mile—A. Thorpe 1, Power (A, v 2. Won by six yards. Time, lmin 59 4-ssec. Running High Jump:—J. Smith, 5 ft S)in 1. There were four other competitors including Templeton, who tied for second place at sft 6in. Potter, of Sydney, won the jump-off. Running Hop, Step, and Jttmp—T. Maher, 43ft sin 1.
