N.S.W. 30; MARLBOROUGH 3. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) BLENHEIM. Last Niaht. The Australian and Marlborough ■Rugby representatives played to-day in good weather, a large attendance lining out. The locals looked the lighter team alongside the visitors. Flaying with the wind in their favour Marlborough failed' to take advantage and repeatedly lost chances by off-side play. Australia were ako offenders in this respect. The visitors gavo exhibitions of pretty combination play in which Sutton. Tasker and Wood were most prominent. Marlborough scored, by Satherley starting a dribbling rush, Nolan getting across. 'Jackson made a fine attempt hut failed to convert. At half time Australia led by 17 points to 3. Jones and Sutton scored two tries qndi Can - one, Hughes converting one. In the second spell Marlborough played a splendid up-hill fight against odds, the visitors' weight and outdoubted superiority telling its tale and carried the- score to thirty points before the bell sounded. Sutton, Carr and Tasker scored tries, Dwyer converting two. The final scores were: Australia 30; Marlborough 3. THE LEAGUE GAME. . TAJSL SCORING AT NELSON.
